Many families come to the office facing language barriers, financial insecurity, and a lack of a support network.
Community Partnership Proposal
An opportunity to invest in families, dignity, and access to immigration guidance.
Ethical, affordable immigration guidance
The New Hope Office of Immigration Services (NHOIS) was born as a practical expression of New Hope Church's mission to welcome and serve immigrant families. For more than six years, the office has provided ethical and affordable immigration guidance and assistance, especially for low-income individuals and families in vulnerable situations.
NHOIS is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice through the Office of Legal Access Programs (OLAP). Its DOJ Accredited Representatives are professionals authorized to provide assistance in immigration matters, evaluate cases, explain legal options and, within the scope of their accreditation, represent clients.
DOJ Accredited Representatives authorized to:
- provide assistance in immigration matters
- evaluate cases
- explain legal options
- within the scope of their accreditation, represent clients
Why this work matters
The cost of private representation can keep vulnerable families from accessing qualified immigration guidance.
The office also helps prevent immigration fraud by offering responsible information and ethical service.
Cases involving domestic violence, trafficking, persecution, and other humanitarian situations require special attention and often pro bono or reduced-fee services.
A new landscape for the immigrant community
The office has grown and now receives families referred not only by New Hope Church, but also by other churches and community organizations. At the same time, recent changes in immigration policies and procedures and the growing complexity of cases have increased the need for reliable guidance. More families need help, cases require more time and resources, and we want to make sure that a family's financial situation is not automatically a barrier to getting assistance.
The support we seek now is not to build a structure from scratch. It is to protect and sustain a structure that already exists and has already met thousands of needs in the community.
Where the resources will be invested
Our priority is to strengthen the office's capacity and preserve low-income families' access to services. Every contribution helps turn resources into service, guidance, and concrete support. Contributions designated to NHOIS will support the following areas:
| Area | How your contribution helps |
|---|---|
Qualified staff |
Partial support for the DOJ Accredited Representatives, the Legal Assistant, and client service. |
Pro bono and low-cost cases |
Helps absorb staff time, case preparation, documents, translation, printing, postage, and other expenses tied to clients who cannot afford the full cost. |
Technology and case management |
Essential systems such as Clio, Google Workspace, Adobe, and Zoom, used in client service and case administration. |
Education and community outreach |
Informational materials, communication, community guidance, and stronger partnerships with churches and organizations. |
The financial picture
NHOIS maintains a permanent service structure made up of qualified staff and the essential resources to run the office, including technology, administration, and case management systems.
At this time, our goal is not to expand the structure, but to preserve what has already been built.
Contributions received complement the affordable fees charged to clients, church support, individual donations, and grants, strengthening the sustainability and continuity of NHOIS's work.
Our goal is not just to keep an office open. It is to keep a door open for families who, in many cases, would have nowhere else to turn for qualified help.

SelectHow giving works
Who receives the contribution
The New Hope Office of Immigration Services operates as a DBA/ministry of New Hope Church. For that reason, contributions designated to NHOIS are officially received by New Hope Church, which is the entity responsible for issuing the donation receipt.
How to give
- Message the office on WhatsApp and tell us the partnership level or amount you have in mind.
- Receive the contribution form with the information needed.
- New Hope Church issues the receipt for your donation.
Possible tax benefit
New Hope Church is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3). Contributions made to the church and designated to support NHOIS may be eligible for a federal income tax deduction, within the limits and requirements of tax law. Tax treatment depends on the donor's situation and on how the contribution is made.
For tax year 2026, the IRS states that people who take the standard deduction and do not itemize may, under certain conditions, deduct up to $1,000 in qualified cash contributions, or up to $2,000 for married couples filing jointly. Taxpayers who itemize and businesses have their own rules and limits.
New Hope Church will provide appropriate documentation of the contribution. We recommend that each donor consult their accountant or tax professional to confirm deductibility and the most appropriate treatment for their personal or business situation.

|---|---|
| Takes the standard deduction and does not itemize | up to $1,000 |
| Married couples filing jointly | up to $2,000 |
